The first thing that has to be said is that this is expensive stuff. Collagen is pretty expensive usually, but when they’re turning it into a hot chocolate drink and adding things like Magnesium bisglycinate, glycine and L-theanine to help with sleep and recovery plus ashwagandha, chamomile, passionflower and reishi mushroom to help with stress relief then the price is going to start climbing. Still, at almost £5.00 a serving, this is probably the kind of thing I’m having once a week on a Friday evening where I really want to boost the amount and quality of my sleep.
With that out the way, I have to say that this is REALLY nice tasting. I generally find hot chocolate drinks or milkshake type drinks that are really supplements usually taste horrible. This hot chocolate drink though is like something I’d get from a supermarket. I was really, really happy with it. You add three tablespoons with milk or hot water. I personally used milk as I wanted the carbs. I then blended it in with a little electric whisk I have. It gave me a really nice, smooth drink that I put in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Again, it was delicious and had a lovely texture.
In terms of how I felt after taking it: I genuinely slept really well. My Garmin Watch Sleep Score was higher than average and I got around 20 minutes more sleep than I usually do as well. I guess 20 minutes sleep and a slight boost in sleep quality may not be all that impressive to some, but for me as someone who values sleep especially on a Friday ahead of busy weekends of training, I’m going to pay the asking price every 7 weeks.
